City Narrows Down Number of Maps for District-Based Elections

The Lake Forest City Council narrowed the potential maps for the switch to district-based elections during its meeting on Tuesday, October 3. A total of 26 potential maps that had submitted by members of the public and the City’s hired demographer were reviewed and discussed. Each map was accompanied with demographic statistics and data.

Council Members selected Maps 109, 110, 115 and 116 for further discussion and analysis at its November 7 City Council Public Hearing.  Additionally, a 5th map is being created by the City demographer to meet the suggested district layout of one councilmember. These maps could be altered or new maps may be suggested prior to and during the next scheduled Public Hearing of November 7, 2017.

The maps are available online at www.drawlf.org and residents are encouraged to review the maps and attend the November 7, 2017 public hearing. The Public Hearing will be at 6:00 pm in the Lake Forest City Council Chambers.
