Robert C. Dunek is a professional public administrator with over 37 years of service to various municipal governments in Orange County, California. Bob has been the City Manager of the City of Lake Forest since January 1996.
Before Lake Forest, Bob was the City Manager of the City of Los Alamitos, CA for seven years and, prior to that, he was the Executive Director of the Orange County Division, League of California Cities. He also worked for the City of Garden Grove in the early 1980s as a Senior Assistant to the City Manager. Prior to working in the general administrative field, Bob was a Master Police Officer with the City of Buena Park, CA.
Bob is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the California City Management Foundation (past Board Member), the Orange County City Managers' Association (past President), and a Board Member of the City/County Management Fellowship Program at the University of Southern California.
Bob earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and holds Master of Public Administration degrees from USC and California State University, Long Beach. In addition, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from California State University, Fullerton.
