Are BMX Bicycles allowed at the Park? BMX bicycles are allowed during the following hours:
Bike Types:A BMX or Freestyle Bike ONLY - No Mountain Bikes, Trials Bikes, Tandem Bikes, 10 speeds, 29ers or similar style bike, Track or Fixed Gear bikes, road bikes, beach cruisers, folding bikes, motorized bikes, electric bikes, tricycles, Big Wheels, Stair cycle, Free riding, trailers, sidecars or any other type of bike that is not a BMX or freestyle type bike.
Other restrictions - Bikes with multiple gears, and/or moving suspensions are not allowed. This includes locked shocks or any other mechanism that locks a suspension on the bike. Recommended bikes have no kickstands.
Wheel Size: Only 16", 20" or 24" in size. 26" and larger wheeled bikes are not allowed (mountain bikes, road racing, trail bikes, etc.)
Handlebars: Must have end caps or grips that cover the end of the bars.
Brakes: All bikes must have at least one functioning brake.
Pedals: Must be aluminum or plastic.
Pegs: Pegs may be used as long as they are either plastic or smooth metal with aluminum capped ends. We allow the T-1 pegs. Any type of metal other than aluminum may not be used. Pegs with holes, serrations, grip tape, grooves, or any other type of surface other than smooth may not be used. If the owner of the bike does not have proper pegs, the pegs must be removed in order to ride the skatepark.
Protective Gear: All riders must wear elbow and knee pads and helmets.
Can I arrange for a bounce house in a Lake Forest park? Bounce houses are not allowed in City parks. Bounce houses are allowed on private properties without a permit.

How much is the admission fee to the park? The Skatepark is currently free for all users due to the "Keep'n it Free" campaign, The City of Lake Forest, and donations from private sponsors.
Starting January 1, 2010 a fee of $5 for all non resident id cards will begin. The Skatepark will be free to use still, just the id card will cost $5. Residents of Lake Forest will receive their id cards for free.

Some common reasons for registration problem include: age requirements not met, classes have begun or are full, and the program or class is not a City sponsored program or class.

How are commissioners selected?
When a vacancy occurs for either commission, the City Clerk publishes a notice to alert Lake Forest residents about the opportunity. Interested parties are asked to fill out an application detailing their qualifications and interest in serving. Applications received prior to the application deadline are forwarded to the City Council for their consideration. After interviewing applicants, the City Council votes to select an applicant.
Does the City Have Volunteer Opportunities for Seniors? Yes. Seniors may be interested in volunteering for the Sheriff's Team of Active Retired Seniors (S.T.A.R.S.) program. Some of the services provided by the S.T.A.R.S. include vacation checks, assistance at community events and the Seniors Offering Support (S.O.S.) program. Does the City offer a senior transportation program? "The City of Lake Forest is currently contracting with South County Senior Services for our senior transportation program. The transportation program includes door to door service to Lake Forest residents participating in City sponsored senior programs such as the Senior Scene Drop-In Program, Instructional Bowling League, Golf Programs, and Emeritus Classes.
To make a reservation for transportation services, please contact South County Senior Services at 855-9766. Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. The cost is fifty cents per trip. For more information, please call 461-3450.

Does the City have a senior center? Yes, Monday-Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. The senior center is located in Lake Forest City Hall at 25550 Commercentre Drive.
Does the City offer a senior meals program? Yes, the senior box lunch program is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 11:30 PM. Suggested donation for the box lunch program is $4, please call 461-3579 to reserve a box lunch. A hot lunch is offered to seniors for free on Thursdays at 11:30 PM.
