Where is the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest located?
Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest is located at 20028 Lake Forest Drive, at the intersection of Lake Forest Drive and the 241 Toll Road across from the Home Depot Center. For more information on the Skatepark visit www.etniesskateparkoflakeforest.com.

What safety equipment is required at the Skatepark?
In addition to submitting a signed release and membership form, all riders must wear a helmet, knee and elbow pads while in the Park. For more information visit http://www.etniesskateparkoflakeforest.com/.

Can I arrange for a bounce house in a Lake Forest park?
Bounce houses are not allowed in City parks. Bounce houses are allowed on private properties without a permit.

Can I simply drop my child off at the Skatepark?
Children 8 years old and under must have a parent or guardian at the Park, along with a signed waiver on file. Skaters 9 - 18 years of age must also have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian on file. Please keep in mind that the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest is not an accredited childcare program. Children are permitted to enter and leave the Park at their own discretion. 

How do I reserve a sports field at Heroes Park or Regency Park?
Groups seeking to reserve fields must submit an application to the Community Services Department.  For information on reserving a field please contact Community Services at (949) 461-3450.

How many people serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission?
There are 5 people that serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

How much is the admission fee to the Skatepark?
The Skatepark is currently free for all users due to the "Keep'n it Free" campaign.  There is a fee of $5 for an identification card for those who are not residents of Lake Forest.  Identification cards for residents are free.  Identification cards are valid for the calendar year, not a year from the date it is purchased

Is power/electricity available at the parks?
No electricity is not available at City parks.

What safety equipment is required at the Skatepark?

Who can I contact if I’m having problems registering online?
Please call Community Services at (949) 461-3450.  We will be happy to help you set up an account or assist with basic online questions.  Some common reasons for registration problem include:  age requirements not met, classes have begun or are full, and the program or class is not a City sponsored program or class.

Where can I obtain an agenda for the Planning Commission and/or the Parks and Recreation Commission?

Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission agendas can be downloaded from the City's website at http://www.city-lakeforest.com/services/agendas.asp. Planning Commission agendas can be accessed on the Friday before the Planning Commission meeting. Parks and Recreation Commission agendas can be accessed the Friday before the meeting.

How are commissioners selected?

When a vacancy occurs for either commission, the City Clerk publishes a notice to alert Lake Forest residents about the opportunity. Interested parties are asked to fill out an application detailing their qualifications and interest in serving. Applications received prior to the application deadline are forwarded to the City Council for their consideration. After interviewing applicants, the City Council votes to select an applicant.

Does the City Have Volunteer Opportunities for Seniors?
Yes. Seniors may be interested in volunteering for the Sheriff's Team of Active Retired Seniors (S.T.A.R.S.) program. Some of the services provided by the S.T.A.R.S. include vacation checks, assistance at community events and the Seniors Offering Support (S.O.S.) program. For more information, please contact Sergeant Stacey Taylor at (949) 461-3542. There are also volunteer opportunities for Seniors at the Senior Scene Clubhouse. Please contact 461-3408 and leave your name and phone number.

What are the Etnies Skatepark hours?

Monday through Thursday 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Friday 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM

What safety equipment is required at Etnies Skate park?
In addition to submitting a signed release and membership form, all riders must wear a helmet, knee and elbow pads while in the Park.  For more information visit www.etniesskatepark.com.

Am I required to purchase a membership in order to use the park?

Does the City offer classes specifically for seniors?
Lake Forest teams up with Irvine Valley College's Emeritus Program to offer courses especially designed to meet the educational and recreational interests of seniors. For a list of classes, please see the latest edition of The Leisure Times, which is posted on the City's website at www.lakeforestca.gov. Who can I contact for information on public swimming pools?

Please contact the Saddleback Unified School District at (949) 768-0981 for information on school district facilities, and/or the Saddleback Valley YMCA at (949) 859-9622.

Does the City offer a senior transportation program?
"The City of Lake Forest is currently contracting with Age Well Senior Services for our senior transportation program. The transportation program includes door to door service to Lake Forest residents participating in City sponsored senior programs such as the Senior Scene Drop-In Program, Instructional Bowling League, Golf Programs, and Emeritus Classes.

To make a reservation for transportation services, please contact Age Well Senior Services at 855-9766. Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. The cost is fifty cents per trip. For more information, please call 461-3450.

Do I need a permit to hold a special event at a City park?

The City requires permits for events with 50 people or more, or events which will feature amplified music. For more information,  please contact the Community Services Department at (949) 461-3450. For information on Heritage Hill Historical Park, call the County of Orange at (714) 855-2028.

How can I find out about activities for teens?

Does the City have a senior center?
Yes, Monday-Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. The senior center is located in Lake Forest City Hall at 25550 Commercentre Drive.

Does the City offer a senior meals program?
Yes, the senior box lunch program is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 11:30 PM. Suggested donation for the box lunch program is $4, please call 461-3579 to reserve a box lunch. A hot lunch is offered to seniors for free on Thursdays at 11:30 PM. For more information please call 461-3450.

What special events are sponsored by the City?

Events sponsored by the City include Concerts in the Park, Movies in the Park, Family Campout, Community Hikes, Haunt at Heritage Hill, Snow Fest, Bunny Blast, the 4th of July Parade and Breakfast with Santa.

When will the schedule for the Summer Family Concerts in the Park be available?

The Summer Concert Series will be announced sometime in the Spring. All concerts are held at Pittsford Park (21701 Pittsford Dr., near the intersection of North Crest Drive and El Toro Road) and begin at 5:30 p.m. For more information, please call 461-3450.

When and where is registration for the Snow Fest?

Snowfest wristbands can be purchased at Lake Forest City hall once registration begins.  Information regarding Snow Fest and registration dates is included in our winter Leisure Times brochure.
