Every hour of the day, somewhere in the world, a natural disaster strikes a community. In most cases, these communities are unprepared for any type of disaster or emergency, and consequently there is a greater loss of life and injury simply because residents are uninformed and unprepared.
The Lake Forest Community Emergency Preparedness Academy (C.E.P.A.) is designed to teach residents the basics of disaster preparedness. The joint partnership between the City of Lake Forest, Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Orange County Fire Authority is what brings this FREE program to Lake Forest residents. As part of the instruction, participants will be certified in First Aid/CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) use. For further information or to enroll, contact (949) 461-3548.
The City of Lake Forest is a member of the Orange County Operation Area and the Orange County Emergency Management Organization. Both of these entities provide "mutual aid" to communities via the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Orange County Fire Authority and the State of California Office of Emergency Services.
