Through bond financing with the County of Orange, partnerships with private developers, and State or Federal funding assistance, there are a variety of affordable living alternatives for low and moderate income families.
With County bond financing assistance, five apartment complexes offer a combined total of 251 rental units at affordable rates: Trabuco Woods, Westridge, Vintage Woods, Emerald Court, and Spring Lakes Apartments.
Private Developer Partnership
The City's Redevelopment Agency entered into an agreement with a private developer to reserve six affordable units at Bellecour Way, a 131-unit townhome style apartment complex. Four of the one-bedroom units are reserved for low income tenants, and two of the one-bedroom units are for moderate income households. All six units include a one-car garage, full-size washer/dryer, gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and garden tub.
Transitional and Affordable Housing Condominiums
A total of nine units (eight transitional housing units and one affordable housing unit) are owned and managed by nonprofit organizations for residents. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds were utilized to assist with the acquisition of these units. Generally, the transitional units are occupied for 6 - 18 months by income qualified households while the families work toward independent living.
