Clean Lake Forest is a community driven clean-up initiative designed to aesthetically improve the City by cleaning parks, streetscapes, and public spaces through litter and graffiti removal. The goal of this initiative is to unify and beautify Lake Forest by assisting with grassroots community clean-up projects that engage residents, non-profits, local businesses, and civic leaders.
Lake Forest continues to focus on regular maintenance throughout the City by handling inquiries regarding graffiti, illegal dumping, park maintenance and other issues. City contractors handle an average of five illegal dumping cases each month. Last year alone, more than 315 graffiti reports were received through the City's Ask Lake Forest system.
Residents are encouraged to download the City of Lake Forest mobile app or visit the Ask Lake Forest (ALF) page to report issues throughout the City.
More than 300 volunteers registered for the Clean Lake Forest National Day of Clean-Up event, on September 18 at Pittsford Park.
The successful event would not have been possible without the support the following participants and sponsors:
Volunteers fanned out to parks, streets, and trails throughout the City, picking up hundreds of pounds of trash. We look forward to the next Clean Lake Forest event on November 6.
Dear Mayor Pro Tem Pequeno,
On behalf of our group at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and School, I would like to thank you for a great day of service! The amount of trash we found was truly astonishing. Our group alone collected 6 full bags of trash. We are so grateful to you and the City Council in bringing forth awareness and for all of your efforts in making this day happen. We loved having the opportunity to clean up our beautiful City of Lake Forest!
"Dear Mayor Pro Tem Pequeno,
Thank you. I’ll sign up there.
I also wanted to mention what a little spark the last event made on our kids. My 1st grade daughter, Kaitlyn, told her whole class about it and then shared the flier for the 11/6 event. Her teacher made copies for her to pass out and made her the “class ambassador” for it. She’s beyond proud! She’s inspired other kids to sign up, too. Thank you for all your efforts!
