The Building Division is responsible for reviewing building construction plans for compliance with the California Building Code in order to be assured that, all new construction is safe and will be a positive improvement to the community. Building inspectors monitor every construction project to ensure that the construction is up to code.
Inspections and Permits During the COVID-19 Outbreak
Lake Forest continues to provide essential City services during the Coronavirus outbreak.
For permits, the building counter is open to the public and no appointment is required during counter hours. Many permits may be submitted by email via firstname.lastname@example.org. However, we are not accepting new construction submittals, commercial submittals, or residential addition/remodel submittals by email. These submittals should be completed in-person during our counter hours.
Inspections are still being conducted in-person. However, customers can request remote inspections. When calling to request an inspection, you will need to enter your PIN number for the permit or plan. The last five digits of the permit number written in red at the top of the job card.
