Are you signed up for notifications when SCE might have to shut down your power? Signed up for official emergency evacuation notices? Are you properly insured? Get the information you need for all of these topics and more at the City of Lake Forest’s Wildfire Preparation events on July 19 and August 9. The City is teaming up with its public-safety partners for pop-ups at Portola Park and Borrego Park. The first event is 9 a.m. to noon on July 19 at Portola Park. The second is from 9 a.m. to noon on August 9 at Borrego Park. The OC Fire Authority, OC Sheriff’s Department, OC Parks’ Firewatch Program, the Office of Supervisor Don Wagner’s Office, and Southern California Edison will staff booths where residents can drop by and get specific steps they need to take to minimize the risk of wildfire. Representatives from the California Department of Insurance will give a presentation about residential fire insurance at 11 a.m. at both events.
