Fortunately, it is not impacting the city of Lake Forest, and officials have determined that the fire no longer poses a threat to the area. As a result, the city will no longer provide updates on the fire. It is not currently affecting the City of Lake Forest. 9-13-2024 - 9:00 am - The Airport Fire has grown to 23,410 acres. Firefighters on the Airport Fire were able to increase containment to 8%. It is not currently affecting the City of Lake Forest. 9-11-2024 - 9:00 am - The Airport Fire has grown to 22,376 acres. The fire continues to move east towards Lake Elsinore. It is not currently affecting the City of Lake Forest. 9-10-2024 - 12:00 pm - An Evacuation Warning has been issued for Zone SIL01, including Silverado Canyon and Modjeska Canyon. There are no areas in Lake Forest currently affected by the fire. 9-9-2024 - Airport Fire in South Orange County. The County of Orange activated and staffed the Emergency Operations Center with County agency representatives at 2:30 PM on Monday, September 9, 2024. The Public Information Hotline has been staffed and is ready to accept calls of inquiry regarding the Airport Fire. The Public Information Hotline phone number is (714) 628-7085. All resources and support personnel have been identified and are on standby ready to mobilize other areas of the Emergency Operations Center when needed. A large animal shelter has been established at 88 Fair Drive in the City of Costa Mesa.
