首页 Departments City Manager SWLF Neighborhood Improvement Needs Assessment SOUTHWEST LAKE FOREST NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT NEEDS ASSESSMENT The City established the Southwest Lake Forest Neighborhood Improvement Task Force to engage with residents, address their concerns, and increase satisfaction with services provided to their neighborhood. In October 2021, the City conducted a door-to-door survey of residents in the southwest region of Lake Forest between Muirlands Boulevard, El Toro Road, Cavanaugh Road, and Rockfield Boulevard. City staff heard concerns about lighting, parking, noise, crime, property maintenance, street sweeping, and more. The Southwest Lake Forest Task Force created nine projects to address each of these issues. Many of the projects are underway or finished: Concern Solution Timeline Speeding Add reflectors on stop signs and "Dip Ahead" sign. Completed Red Curb Markings Add markings on Jutewood Place and La Vaca Street. Completed Lighting Add lighting at the end of Packer for safety. Completed Crime (Part 1) Launch Catalytic Converter Theft Deterrent Programs. Completed Crime (Part 2) Increase Orange County Sheriff's patrols. Underway Parking/Street Sweeping Increase parking permits and parking restrictions. Underway Noise Work with neighboring businesses and initiate code cases if necessary. Underway Landscaping Code Enforcement inspections and educate residents on regulations. Underway Property Maintenance Educate the community about regulations. Note: The City cannot force property owners to make maintenance upgrades. The City's Code Enforcement can address concerns that pose a health hazard or safety risk. Underway Homelessness Increase Orange County Sheriff's patrols. Underway The Southwest Lake Forest Task Force is now addressing the southwest Lake Forest neighborhood between Rockfield Boulevard, Ridge Route Drive, and Gowdy Avenue. Door-to-door surveys of more than 240 homes within the area were completed in April 2023. The City is finalizing the data collected from residents and will roll out an action to address neighborhood concerns in the following months. Neighborhood Concerns?
